The community of Holgate, Ohio, is mourning the passing of Hunter Thomas Gerschutz, who died at the age of 23, leaving behind family, friends, and loved ones who are grieving the loss of a young man whose life brought happiness to many.
Born on June 28, 2003, to Debra Clement and Thomas Gerschutz, Hunter was a graduate of Holgate Local Schools, Class of 2022. He was remembered as outgoing, energetic, athletic, and someone who had a special ability to make people laugh and enjoy every moment. He later worked with Premier Patching while continuing to build memories with those around him.
Hunter loved staying active and spending time with family and friends. Whether attending concerts, playing pool and poker, or simply enjoying life, he brought excitement and positivity wherever he went. Those who knew him will remember his adventurous personality, his laughter, and the lasting impact he made in the lives of others.
Hunter is survived by his parents, Thomas Gerschutz and Debra Clement; his siblings Joshua, Garrett, Mariah, Cheyenne, and Rusty; along with nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends who will continue to cherish his memory. His family and loved ones will forever carry the memories of his kindness, humor, and vibrant spirit.
Funeral services will be held at Zachrich Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Holgate, Ohio, with burial to follow at Marion Township Cemetery in Hamler. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Hunter Gerschutz’s life was far too short, but the joy he shared and the memories he created will remain with everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
